As an ACGME accredited dermatology residency program, we are looking for residents who are responsible, able to meet new challenges, flexible, team players, adaptable, reliable, mature, resourceful, motivated, inherently curious, love learning, can independently synthesize information and can think outside of the box.
We accept applicants who have completed prior residencies. Per the ACGME Dermatology Program Requirements, during the board-based clinical year (PGY-1), elective rotations in Dermatology must not exceed a total of two months.
We do not require any minimum board scores. All applicants will be screened holistically by the Program Leadership Team and a group of Faculty.

We require a minimum of 3 letters of recommendation in addition to the dean’s letter.
Letters from physician mentors/attendings, research mentors or other mentors, supervisors or advisors who know you as a physician, scientist or leader, or can serve as a reference are all acceptable. We do not accept letters from relatives or significant others. We encourage you to send letters from Dermatologists.
We will accept all letters, including standardized and narrative-style letters but the standard letter of evaluation is preferred when possible.
Yes. We recommend that you provide an explanation for your desire to switch specialties.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate meaningful engagement in dermatology-related scholarly activity. While extensive research experience is not required, we strongly value evidence of curiosity, academic involvement, and contributions to the dermatology literature.
Scholarly activity may include, but is not limited to, dermatology-focused research projects, case reports, posters, presentations, abstracts, manuscripts, quality improvement initiatives, or other contributions to the field. Both published and unpublished work are considered. We seek applicants who have taken initiative to participate in scholarly endeavors and contribute to advancing dermatologic knowledge.
USMLE Step 2 is required upon application to our program.
Yes. We will consider foreign medical graduates whether they have clinical experience in the USA or not. Each application will be considered on a case by case basis. Foreign medical graduates must be ECFMG certified to be considered.
